World Cup Madness: US versus Ghana
The US team must win today, or it is out of the tournament. It's US versus Ghana!
Other games that should be interesting: Italy versus Czech Republic, Croatia versus Australia, and Japan versus Brazil. Which ones should I watch? (My professors will say: "NONE! Get back to work!")
But I must at least watch the US-Ghana game!
UPDATE 1: The US played miserably! Miserably. I'm glad that Ghana advances, though! It is a great story of the underdog. Nobody thought Ghana would do well; in fact most of the sports reporters ignored Ghana completely and predicted that out of the group, Italy and the Czech Republic would advance. Congratulations to Ghana for playing with real skill and heart. And congrats too to the delightful Italians also. US team, back to the drawing board.
UPDATE 2: Hooray for the Italians, off to the next round! Even the American media is calling out "Forza Italia!" Plus, hooray for Australia's Socceroos! I'm sorry to see Croatia go, though -- I really like that team's fun, red-and-white checkered jerseys!
